Sabrinna Dias (nicknamed Sheila E.) is a Brazilian American singer-songwriter from Newark, New Jersey. She was born in the United States on May 6, 1995, and was raised as part of the local Brazilian community.  She grew up merging both American and Brazilian cultures.  Nowhere is this more evident than in her life as a musician. She has been heavily influenced by genres such as pop, hip-hop, rock, R&B, soul, funk, jazz, Bossanova, samba, and salsa. Those who know Sabrinna know that she can do it all music-wise and see how she has managed to combine all of these styles into a special and unique talent.

Sabrinna was the first-ever drummer to win the coveted Star-Ledger Performing Arts Scholarship. Each year, the scholarship shines a light on Newark’s brightest young talent by offering merit-based aid to students who excel in vocal and instrumental music, acting, and dance to attend the university of their choice.

Sabrinna performed at the inauguration of International Jazz Day.  There, she had the pleasure to meet Sheila E. and the honor of performing at the reception attended by Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, and many other renowned jazz musicians.

In 2021, Sabrinna made it to the top 32 contestants of The Voice season 21 which featured and premiered Ariana Grande alongside Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, and John Legend who eventually became Sabrinna’s coach.  Sabrinna made history that season when she became the first person to represent Brazil and sing “Garota de Ipanema” in Portuguese.  After being selected, she continued her journey on the show winning her battle and performing the song “Photograph” with Ed Sheeran during Knockout round rehearsal.

Sabrinna Dias began her music career when she was eight years old. She started out on piano, but by age nine she chose to learn the drums and eventually became the main drummer at her local church by age ten. She began singing and playing guitar at age sixteen and has been pursuing her vocal talent and musicianship ever since. Her gifts and strong work ethic eventually brought her all the way to Africa for performances a few years later. Her efforts and passion for music have earned her not only two Bachelor’s Degrees, but also a Master's Degree in education. Sabrinna is not only an artist but a dedicated music teacher as well.

Sabrinna Dias is driven and passionate about life and what she does. She is currently focused and working on an original song with a producer that will soon be released as a single. Plans are also underway for a local concert.  She is preparing to release new music and to perform all over the world. The best is yet to come for this up-and-coming star.
